I painted my dash, doors, carpet and trim in my 1990 toyota 4runner.....I used Dupli-color vinyl and fabric paint. I went with a flat black and it actually looked pretty good compared to the puke brown my interior originally was.

I've seen a lot of guys driving cavaliers and sunfires doing a white/black combo, but it looks like they are using some sort of general purpose paint, and it flakes and looks awful. I found with the Dupli-color spray that if you took your time and put on about 5-7 coats, it actually looked really nice....I have before and after pictures of the door I will post:

The Dupi-color works great. I am currently painting my dashboard and door panels. I will post pics as soon as I am done.

I bought a OEM black center console from Jarhead293 a while ago.

Before that, I painted my tan console black and that worked very well. I still have that console if you want to buy it, it's for a manual.

Hey Ghostyman. What did you use to paint the plastic? How did it hold up?

I used primer, Krylon flat-black enamel, and a clear coat. It held up very well... it got two dings in the paint from dropping heavy objects on it, but everything else has held up well to normal wear and tear.

I'll post a picture later if I remember.

Alright, sounds good. I just new I didn't want to use the vinyl paint because I've heard that chips easy. Thanks.
