auto shifter question

ive searched this thing over and over again looking for a DIY for cutting down the auto shifter. can someone post one on how to do it please.

do you mean making the shifter shorter? i did that to mine but theres not much you could make it shorter by...maybe half an inch and you would have to buy an aftermarket shifter with teh button on top...i have the momo one and when i put it on it looked too tall so i used a dremel to cut the lil wheel thats used for the stock shifter and it looks alot better...hope it helps

its nothing special...just remove your stock shifter and youll see a lil roller on top...take a saw to it or dremel and take it off...or do you mean you want to see a pic of my shifter? heres a pic of the shifter...sorry, its the only one that i had...

ive seen a couple of different accords where the auto shifter is like 4 to 5 inches shorter, but anyway i put a shift boot and an aftermarket shift knob so im not all that concerned with cutting it down anymore.. but i do have a question for you, you have the steering wheel i want, and i just wanted to know what happened to your cruise control???? do you still have it working? and if you do how do you have it hooked up, since it was on the steering wheel????

nope, no more cruise control...my hub didnt allow me to keep it...although i do believe slateboy was selling a hub that would allow you to keep it, drop him a pm and see if he still has it.

1. could i cut off more than just the little wheel? and make it as short asi want? i took it off a long while back and i vaugely rememeber it.

2. would you not just be able to mount the cruise somewhere on the cluster part for the washer and signals?

i dont think you could cut it down too much...remember, you have to have something to push down on in order for you to change gears...you could try cutting it and permanently glue it all the way down but you could accidently smack the lever and the car will shift gears...is you want to do somehting like this then try pushing it down, mark the point where it stops and cut it there...then just use something like jb weld to glue it down and just put any shift knob you want...it wouldnt even matter if it was specifically for a automatic or not

as for the cruise control, the only way you could do that is by using a hub similar to what slateboy(i think it was him) was selling where it was c.c. compatible cuz the whole srs system and cruise control is all rolled into one and you have to remove it in order to install your steering wheel...this is what im talking about
