It's possible. It will make visibility much better, but don't expect them to out perform HID retrofits.

It could definitely be done as long as the bulbs have plenty of room so they don't melt anything.

They've been retro-fitted by a member of this board with custom angel eye's as well.

The retrofit involves replacing just about everything inside the lights though... hardly the same thing.

Those projectors in the original post are made for halogen bulbs... and the light output sucks bad enough with them. HIDs will increase the output a bit, but they are not made to house HID bulbs. The cutoff will be awful. They'll just be a wash of light... and probably irritating to oncoming drivers unless you point them at the ground.

A proper retrofit is the only real way to have HID projectors in your car. It looks better when you do it well, the light output is fantastic, and it's a respectable modification.

i have actually dexperimented with projectors orginally made to accomodate halogen bulbs when I did my HID swap. Since they were not made and designed around d2s bulbs the output was actually pretty lousy. Aww shiets swap uses projectors made for HID bulbs as far as I know. Don't know if this helps..

                      ...adjust accordingly

I just bought those headlights and planning to retrofit xenon projectors in them; light output should be much better, wider, brighter and sharper than the stock glass headlights which block and distort light output.

The H3 bulbs that come in the low beam are the worst bulbs ever made and are actually for fog lights because of the very poor light output they produce; now if you put H3 rebased xenon bulbs you have to make sure are exactly the same size and even with that output will be bad because those particular projectors can't handle hids properly.

So you should retrofit some real xenon projectors in them.

There were a few guys that replaced the halogen projectors for xenon one but never posted results.
