what you need to do though is really research how a projector works...cus you're just not getting it, if you just use the front part of the projector...it isn't a projector anymore, its simply a glass lense which will hinder light output at best. The part you really need the back reflector bowl, that is what "projects" the light through that lense way more efficiently. Thats how the super strong beam pattern gets produced...you cannot break those pieces up and just use the front part man...i don't know how else to put it

ill be makin a bowl and i was just using the lens if u read back you should catch that i mentioned one was a highbeam and one was a low beam so the cutoff shields would be wack. u put it all right its just was taking wrong and misinterpreted is all no harm no foulOriginally posted by Losiracer2 View Postwhat you need to do though is really research how a projector works...cus you're just not getting it, if you just use the front part of the projector...it isn't a projector anymore, its simply a glass lense which will hinder light output at best. yeah man, I know but I'd just hate to have you labor all that retrofitting time and have something higher then you'd expected. I spent about 25 hrs retrofitting those TSX projectors in my headlights and painting everything along w/ putting those shrouds in and filling the back w/ gap sealer so no dirt/water would get in. It was tough. The mounting of the projector was also kinda hard, I had to drill 4 holes in each headlight making sure I got it right the first time, otherwise my cutoff line was gonna be all wack and not straight.Originally posted by loud92CB7db18 View Postill be makin a bowl and i was just using the lens if u read back you should catch that i mentioned one was a highbeam and one was a low beam so the cutoff shields would be wack. u put it all right its just was taking wrong and misinterpreted is all no harm no foul

most people do retros for improved light output
The engineers that design and make hid projector assemblies take that into serious consideration hence the reason for a specific projector lense, bowl and cutoff.
The lense and the cutoff can always be change but the bowl plays a very important part in the output(just as important as the lense).
With that said, you are gonna need the bowls or another bowl of some kind to send the light forward thru the lense for desired output.
I know u say you are making a bowl but it would be much better to just get the correct bowl thats associated with ur lense for best results.1993 Accord LX - Sold

Put a lightbulb in your headlights right now and see what u get...
Play with distances and see if anything gets better.
Im playing with BMW E30 Projectors, they have a great purple cutoff!
They are long as hell, but I barely had to cut the back of my headlight housing, and they almost touch the headlight glass lol
I just need shrouds so they look decent...
I got two projectors for $15
