anybody install a backoff modulator?

has anyone here installed one of those modulators which causes your third brake light to flast 3 times before it comes on solidly as a method of grabbing trailing motorists attention to avoid accidents?

one guy put them on a vette. they were installed in his rear bumper like a rear fog ( he put 2 of them ) it made u pay attention but it also looked flaming

I'm not sure how much people are charging for these "boxes" that people are using/talking about, both like the OP mentioned and the one above can be done for under $30 using Arduino.

It sounds like a good idea.... and about a thousand times better than that parking light/third brake light always on mod that was floating around a few weeks ago...

i've seen it done on some random car on the freeway, got annoying pretty fast--traffic.
