Or you can get it on eBay. It's like the only generic grille made for the CB lol.

If you're using halogen bulbs, then yes, 9006 is the bulb type for the OEM housing low beams.Originally posted by Peezdoutgelo View PostI am supposed to get 9006 right? Just to put it in my 1990 oem headlights
HIDs should NOT be used in OEM reflector housings. OEM housings are not designed to handle the increased output of HIDs, resulting in large ammounts of glare/unused light going places it should not...like into the eyes of oncoming drivers.
Be considerate of other drivers and do the right thing by running halogen bulbs. Or nut up and do a complete HID projector retrofit.

Eyelids don't work. The reflectors are ellipsoidal, the light that blinds drivers is coming from the bottom of your reflector.Originally posted by Cb_JoeyG View PostThis guy have a valid point^
I on the other hand am going to use eyelids to keep the glare down :\ until i do end up doing a projector retro
And I am confused as to why you would get a kit now, and then pay again to get a D2S kit for your projectors.
In any case, HIDs in stock CB reflectors are terrible... hell the stock halogen 9006s in stock CB reflectors are pretty awful. But w/HIDs you blind people too.

Right, i wasn't saying otherwise, i was simply making a point that 9006 halogen would be the proper way to go about it. 9006 in HID form would be wrong from an ethical standpoint.Originally posted by HardInThePaint View PostIf you're using HID then its still 9006...

Not sure why people on here talk about HID's in stock housing blind you. A bit annoying yes. Blinding? Thats going a bit too far. I see cats driving cars all day everyday with HID's and I've never even really tripped on it.
HID's in stock housing looks ricer anyways. And yes, one should be respectful and HID's do emit too much glare and it can be annoying to other drivers. But they've been out for many many years and there hasn't been any real statistics stating that they are as dangerous as a lot of people on here make them out to be. If that was the case they would be outlawed and highly enforced.
You guys are just throwing too much topping on the entire thing.

It does get enforced. You can't pass inspections here with HIDs in a car not meant to have them.Originally posted by HardInThePaint View PostIn your opinion.

My whole thing is you can get and retrofit projectors for like $150... HID + projectors. The beam will still be shit but at least it won't blind people. Its annoying as hell when someone w/shitty HIDs drives behind me and has my mirrors all glared up... it doesn't have to be coming at you to be annoying

You sure it's just my opinion?Originally posted by HardInThePaint View PostIn your opinion.
Given the language you're using, it sounds like you agree with my ethical standpoint. You say they are annoying, ricer and even disrespectful to other drivers. It seems as though we're on the same page here, since the point i was making is that they are just as you say...annoying and inconsiderate, when used in halogen reflectors.Originally posted by HardInThePaint View Post...A bit annoying yes. ...

I don't believe anyone in this particular thread has mentioned them being statistically dangerous, myself included. All that was said was that they fucking suck when they get all up in your face/rear-view mirrors...in more or less words...Originally posted by HardInThePaint View PostBut they've been out for many many years and there hasn't been any real statistics stating that they are as dangerous as a lot of people on here make them out to be...
But, to address the safety issue, i do think they are dangerous...to a degree and not for everyone in the same way. For instance, people with mild or full-blown night blindness....My eyes are VERY sensitive in the dark. When some ass-hat driving by with his 55w 6k HIDs blasting my retinas with the light of God, i cannot see the road for shit. But im spatially aware of my car and the road in front of me (from what i saw before being blinded) that i can maneuver passed him without issue. As do a lot of other people...most likely attributing for the lack of stats on the official stance on HID safety.
You may not be affected as drastically as others, but you're not the only one on the road, nor does everyone else on the road react to things the same way you do. Did you account for that?
Agreed. It's probably 10 times more annoying when they're follow you for miles, destroying rear-view visibility with copious amounts of glare...Originally posted by gloryaccordy View Post...Its annoying as hell when someone w/shitty HIDs drives behind me and has my mirrors all glared up... it doesn't have to be coming at you to be annoying
This debate could go on forever.....i think we can agree to disagree that they shouldn't/should be used in OEM reflectors. But what is fact is that the right way to use HIDs, is to use them with a housing/projector DESIGNED for HIDs. If you're not, then you're doing it wrong.
