you will have a cutoff but not as sharp as projectors. plus jdm headlights flare to the RIGHT so it will glare to oncoming traffic so please use shields to minimize it. like gloryaccordy said, look for "H4 hid shield" on ebay. here is my setup taken from my member's rides:
-JDM two-piece headlights with lexus
GS400 ballasts and philips D2R bulbs using autolamps shields (thanks usc
)

see the RHD flare?
WHOA there it is!

HIDs only

HIDs with high beams (stanley H1)

good luck!

entitled to your liking is one thing which has nothing to do with what i stated.
but the fact is, it doesn't make it right now does it? i didn't think so. and just b/c you're not getting flashed does not mean you are not blinding people.

dude you serious . you stated that projectors are the way to go when putting hid;s on your jdm headlights due to cutoff and blinding people . projectors are hot and will always have better lighting than non projector headlights i agree . but dont come here saying that hid on h4 kits would be blinding people . maybe because you seen it on diff .setups? . have you seen mines > i didnt think so .
. i never got not one insult of me blinding nor never got other car flashing at me . my hid's are perfect imo.. i dont know what kits you have seen.. you are basically talking shit about h4 non projectors hid kits on open headlights .

Ehh.. not too much. They say on HIDplanet that e46 projectors are kinda hard to get color off of. They already came with a bent shield mod, so maybe I might get more color after my bulbs colorshift.Originally posted by acch22i just noticed your sig, how blue/violet is your cut-off with the washer mod?

technically my setup as well as accord_inspire's is considered a "retrofit". we do not have "kits". we are using units from another car; in my case lexus GS 400 ballasts with philips D2R bulbs. this is a retrofit, just not a projector retrofit like most definitions state.Originally posted by acch22^ what cut-off??
and a cutoff is the point where the light ends. pretty self explanatory here. i agree that projectors have a better cutoff but look at my against-the-wall pic. there is a clear definition of where the light is and where the light ends. yes it flares to the right glaring to on-coming traffic and i acknowledge this. my poor pictures do not do any justice. they are great in actuality. to his their own
.
