neon kit do or do not

in the future i am thinking of putting a green neon kit for my car. yet i hear lots of rumors of what can or cant be done

    so far i know this.

it cant be blue or red and be driven on the road.

and it cant be on while driving ( any color )

so my question is can i have it or not.

In Illinois, you can have it, but it can't be on while you're driving. The color doesn't matter

i'm pretty sure you can have it in any state, as long as its not on while your driving.

        Dear god, NO.

In CT I think the law is that it can't be red or blue.

You know, california state laws are sorta weird. I had the L.E.D. washer lights on my car at one time I had blue ones at first and my friend got pulled over for having blue ones on (mine were turned off) The cop told him that only white or yellow lights can be on in front of the car as far as auxillary lights go..... hearing this I then changed my blues to yellows. Sure enough I got pulled over by CHP one day and I told him what a cop told my friend....and basically he said that cop didn't know what he was talking about. This cop told me yes white and yellow auxillary lamps are fine, but what didn't come with ur car originally are considered illegal. So I took those SOB's off.

As far as aftermarket lighting goes.... I've seen people drive in front of a cop with neons on in my city..... I guess it all depends if the cop wants to pull you over or not. There are some Limos especially in San Francisco that have neon accents right on the outside door pillars..... So i'm guessing it all depends on the vehicle too. Washer LED lamps can be compared to a 18-wheelers top mounted lights for greater visibility to oncoming traffic at night...but thats a norm. I think we get tickets for it coz it's more of a distraction on the road.

One thing I almost got a ticket for (obvious coz the cop busted a U-turn real quick and tried to catch up with me) I had my jdm pole extended and it has a green L.E.D. at the top. I noticed him bust a U and I quickly pressed my switch to hide it. About 1min later, the cop raced up behind me only in the next lane to take a quick look....but I guess I fooled him for another accord coz he was pacing like wtf? where did that lamp go? If i did get pulled over for it...just how that CHP pulled me over for not having OEM auxillary lights, I would've showed the cop that this is a true OEM part on my car.....who knows maybe they will let me go coz it would be dumb to give a ticket for something that came standard right?
I need a custom turbo manifold built....
