I just received a set of clear bumper lights from an eBay auction. I will be trying to mate them with a set of foglights I have and will be installed under the stock bumper lights. I need to take the lights apart so I can see how I can incorporate the foglights into them. These are plastic so I'm thinking the oven won't work as they'll melt. Blowdryer perhaps? Any other suggestions?

Dont bulbs from a fog light operate at a higher temperature? Wont that melt the bumper light lense? I used to wire my bumper light so that it would stay on when ever my headlights/Daytime running lights were on. I used a hyper white bulb which operated at a higher temperature and it melted the bumper lense.
Just wondering.....Stolen out of Circuit City Parking Lot :

they do melt...so i seen...someone put some 9006 in there..haha that melted.
i wanted to do this but u need to find some high temp plastic that wont melt like the jdm fog light plastic kind. What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

ive had that idea a while back, i was on the lookout for a set of foglights that were 1" or less tall, to fit inside of my clear bumper lenses. i talked to xplode for a while... ever try touching the foglight housing while its been on for a while? it gets hot from what i hear... if a 9006 will melt a housing (like it did for me), an aftermarket fog light mounted inside will melt it too. i still have some DIY ideas floating around in my head, but im pretty darn sure yours isnt gonna workOriginally posted by WeDgE
No, I'm not just putting a bulb in...I'm integrating foglights that I already have, housing and all, into a set of bumper lights which will sit below the factory bumper lights...

^central california...hehe no wonder ur car got jacked...i live in sacramento.
anyways...someone i heard a while back put a huge spacer between the bulb and the plastic lens and set it back...thus eliminating heat..but i still think it will melt. What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice.
