    Scratch Remover...

My car was keyed several times before I got it and it has 3 HUGE scratches from end to end on the passenger side and another big scratch on the driver side in the back.

Do car scratch removers actually work? Are they work buying?

scratch removers are just polish, which is basically just VERY fine grit sandpaper, but instead of being glued to a paper backing, its in a creme in a bottle.

do the scratches cut entirely through a layer of paint, or just scratch into it? a bottle of scratch remover wont do much besides blend out smaller scuffs and scratches... for keying, youll probably need to bring it to a body shop. if its not too bad, they may be able to blend it out, otherwise the only way to replace a long scrape of missing paint, is to repaint everything.

Oh alright. Yeah it goes through a layer of paint I guess I'll have to just repaint it all over again, I'm torn between Black or repainting it Arcadia Green.

yeah, not all scratches can be removed, but they can be lessend. drag your fingernail across the scratches to get an idea of how deep they are. if your nail falls in, there's not much you can do. later.

Follow up question. What is the proper application technique for the Mother's Scratch Remover? I assume

              1. Clean area to be worked on
              2. Apply Scratch Remover with applicator working it in varying directions
              3. Removal????

apply it with a pad and work it in. When you're done working it in, remove the rest with a micro fiber towel.

                  nice sig btw.

Yeah, that thread was getting pretty funny and your quote seemed quite appropriate.
