    Odyssey PC680 battery

    I've been looking at the odyssey pc680 battery to relocate into my trunk, and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the equations, or whatever to figure out if it has enough cold crank amps for my car and the sound system in it. I don't want the car to die on me or anything, but I don't need any reserve power, so thats not an issue. I'm told with this battery the car won't start in cold weather though...but I'm not sure if the guy I talked to about it knew what he was saying.

    I have an alpine head unit, basic pioneer speakers, a 600 watt amp and a 10" memphis subwoofer. I have a 4300k HID kit as well.
    Here are the Odyssey battery's specs:

    * 680 cranking amps for 5 seconds
    * 595 cranking amps for 10 seconds
    * 525 cranking amps for 20 seconds
    * Short circuit current over 1800A
    * 17Ah
    * 25 minute reserve capacity with 25amp load
    * CCA - 220
    * Female brass terminal w/M6 SS bolt

    And the link:

    So basically, I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me if I can use this battery in place of the regular battery and have everything work just the same.

    I have one.. It is great... I do not drive the car in the winter though and I would not want to use that battery in the winter. For the winter buy a traditional civic battery .. Get the cheap one at walmart. They are like $30 with a good warranty. If you have it in the trunk they have built in vents that you can hook up vacuum lines to vent it.

      Do you have any kind of upgraded sound system though?

          Yeah, the PC680MJ can get REALLY fussy during the winter months, in the summer it's absolutely fine. I don't have any sort of a sound system either, nor will I ever.

              Because they're not as small or as light that I know of...I want the pc680 specifically if I can get away with it so I can hide it in my trunk out of sight.

                buy it then spend $30 on a winter battery then you don't have to worry about it.

                  optima has some new ones out they are smaller i dunno if they as small as that battery but i know they have some. just saying i am a big fan of my yellow tops but again i have a normal group 34 and a larger 31 for my system and i love them. i can play music at normal volume (amps are mca 2004 and mca 2500d by memphis) for about 7-8 hours straight before actually seeing a anything below 11.4ish volts.
