    Problems with cd player

I didn't know where to post this. I just recently purchased a Kenwood KDC-X617 for $60. The power comes on and everything, but when I switch to the CD player I get a TOC error, and the cd in the player wont eject. the fm stations work and all, but it doesnt even attempt to eject the cd. any ideas?

i took the top of the cd player off, and theres a damn dave chapelle cd stuck in there, i dunno how to get it out.

there's a really small reset button behind the faceplate. Hit that and see if stuff works.

Well I took apart the cdplayer and got the CD out, now only problem is, the thing wont even turn on...it actually started doing that before i even took it apart. i checked the fuse on the back, it still works. and i know its not the power or wires on my car, cause my other radio still works...but i'm not getting any power at all on the cd player...any ideas? p.s. i cant find any reset button behind my face...but my face doesnt completely come off, it just flips around.

ahh, ok i thought it came completely off. Sounds like a fubared cd player by your description, but still look for a reset button as a last resort, it may work. Is the cd player old? Do you still have the instruction booklet so you can see where the reset button is? Hope you get it working.

It's definalty not cool to buy hot goods, all your doing is telling the assholes that are doing the stealiing to keep at it.

Your problem with the headunit is the fact that it's a kenwood. They all take shits on people.. I had the KDC-X717 from a few years back, it did that exact same thing on me about 1 year after i bought it. I went out and bought my pioneer, havnt had any problems, and it's definalty the best thing that i've ever purchased. Sad to hear that you purchased a kenwood.

I have the pioneer DEH MP8600 from 2 years ago... it's equivlent to the DEH MP 9600 now, they pretty much just changed the model number and added a more fancy display.. It still looks bad ass as anything. This is what it looks like: http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/d/...a/Aug19_16.JPG
It impresses everyone when they get in my car. It's got the dual face, so when the car's off, it shows just some buttons and looks like a shitty as cd player, but when you turn it on, the buttons drop and reveal the nice display. I spent way too much money on the stereo in my car. It really sucked when my kenwood died cuz it was like a 450 dollar headunit, luckily it happened right as i got my tax return check back so it didnt hit the bank too much. I had to deal with the factory tape player for about a week. I've also got 4 6.5 component MBQuart speakers with crossovers and 2 custom mounted pioneer 3 1/4's. Heres one:
http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/d/...a/Aug19_17.JPG ... nice and custom mounted, hooked up correctly too, all through a seperate electronic crossover so that it only playes sound that's supposed to come out of a center speaker. I have that because I was installing speakers in this girls toyota and she told me she needed 3 1/4's, they didnt fit. so I just kept them since they were like 30 bucks..
