Headunit USB problem

I have a sony CDXGT610UI and I have had a 2gb flash drive in it ever since I got it. But Recently I got a 8GB and since I have hit 1000+ songs on the drive it has problems reading the drive when its cold.

It will say READ, then Error, unless i unplug it twice then plug it back in. Then It works just fine.

Any Ideas?

is it only when its cold? and how cold? what format are the songs? and is it jump mp3's or is it wma or aac?

OK its the flash drive thats messing up.

It doesn't like the cold... odd for a solid state device...
