ummmm u definitly messed up the wiring and you are either shorting or burning the wires or sumthins getting very hot behind there....yank all your work apart and double check it and the fuses k?

What did the smoke smell like? Burning electronics?

I suggest taking your time to find out what was burning, and replace whichever component(s) need be. It wouldn't be wise to let whatever was burning continue, possibly causing further damage.

You said you recently installed a stereo? Did you use an aftermarket plug-and-play wiring harness, or did you make your own harness? As long as everything was cut, spliced, and crimped properly and correctly, it shouldn't be affecting anything negatively.

If you don't trust your stereo wiring, I'd disconnect it first to eliminate it from your list of potential issues.

Are you sure this is right or left?
The coin thing is to the left of the cluster....
Does your heater fan work? When my stopped working it BLEW smoke.
