    possible downgrade?

hey guys, i have 2 10's right now. One of mine is cracked a little and one of my buddy's at work wants to buy them. So im going to sell them to him but i want to get somthing else to take their place.. he's given me 150 for em' and i can get pretty good deals on subs because my brother works at a best buy. Im just wondering if there's a chance that one 12 would sound as good as 2 tens. I got a 1400 watt amp. The subs i got right now are punch's. any imput?

Some times yes and some times no. I used to have 2 tens single voice coil to a Rockford amp and they hit hard. But then I went to an audiobuahn 12 DVC with the same amp and it hit way harder then the 2 tens. If you have the amp to push a big 12" it should be better.

kinda like what fizzbob said it may hit hard but its not gunna have the same sound, the 10s will hit faster and more punchy and the 12 will be deep sounding but a little slower hitting and not as punchy. thats why 8s are fun cause they hit so fast.

ya, im gettin the 12's. Their 850 watts a peice... so i think that my 1400 watt amp will push them alright, i just need to get a capacitor so my lights dont dim so much.

Have you upgraded the "Big 3?"
Thats a much cheaper solution to buying a cap if yr on a budget

upgrading the size of wire from the battery to alternator, along with upgrading the size of wire to ground. something along those lines

its like nothing in the world. definition of relaxation.

                    tens give out"tighter bass"
12's are not necessarily a down grade. depends on what kind of music you dominantly listne to.
12's are good for rap rnb and stuff like that 10's are good for rock and alternative... thats just my experience
