    Tapping into sunroof wiring

SO I'm looking for a good spot to tap into my dash wiring for all my accessories, such as neon light's and such.

I was behind the cruise switch and saw there is a second plug which I can only assume is for the sunroof which I don't have.

Sooo? Can I tap into that for power, accessory, and ground?
If so does anyone know which is which?

Why not just run some wires to the fuse panel? That way you have the protection of a fuse?

But if you really want to use one of those plugs, you'd obviously use the one that's not being used by the cruise. What I'd do is use a test light to see if the unused plug has power with the key on or off, if it has power with the key on, there is the 12v wire, the other should be a ground.

I'm sure the reason there are 2 plugs is because, they just used a "universal" harness for those things, rather than have to separate which ones go for the ex models and which ones go for the lx models.

Does that make any sense? reading that kinda hurts my head

all ur going to find in the sunroof switch is ground, 2 output negitives ground and a parking light wire.

Go somewhere else like the fuse box.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Exactly, there are already accessory power taps on the fuse box for that purpose.

Yeah I was thinking about that but as much wiring as i've done in my life both stereo and other I've never wired to the fuse box and am unsure how to.

          Wanna give me some pointers.

Why would there be a parking light wire in the sunroof switch?

Wiring your head unit is simple. For the yellow wire on the stereo, find a fuse that has 12v all the time, whether the key is on or off. That wire stores your memory, radio settings, etc.

As for the red wire, find a fuse that has 12v with the key on, like the radio fuse.

Then the black wire, just find a screw or something behind the stereo to mount that to, and you're golden.

It's a quick disconnect tab that provides a constant 12v. All you need is the female connector. It's the one closest to the ignition harness
