I am not understanding your question...was there a question? I saw no question mark except in the heading.

its kinda tricky but not real hard i think the hardest part is getting the screws out from behind the ashtray if you pull out the ashtray and feel in there theres two screws on the top you have to take out and the get yourself a wiring kit and a install kit from walmart or audio store and put it back in hope this helps a lil bit a manual is the easiest way to figure it out but its not real hard.
im finally back in a cb7 its like coming home.lol

I can say I did the reverse. That is, I have the stock headunit and then added the stock cd player, instead of having the pocket. To get the basics of removing the headunit if you need that, go to: http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs...PDF/466033.pdf

The OEM mounting bracket for the headunit/cd player combo (the same that came with the headunit/eq) is different then the one that came with the headunit/pocket and I had a lovely time trying to get those 2 gold screws in, that are on top (that keep both units together). The mouting bracket screws are as noted easier and accessible with the ashtray removed. As the doc stated I removed the center console and the only way I could see fit to get at those 2 top screws was to remove the entire dash trim panel.

Thanks peeps, i'm going to try to hook up this cd player. I hope i don't have to take that trim off. I'm not the best with plastic pieces (i tend to break plastic).
