well i say get an amp kit...

first you need a power wire from teh battery thats below an 8 guage... u hook this up to your 12 volt.

do you have a stock deck or aftermarket?

if you haven an aftermarket you hook up rca's to the amp from the deck. then you run a power wire from the deck to the remote of the amp...its the blue wire...that will turn on ur amp.

depending on how many channels your amp is your going to have to run new speakers wires to the speakers you want to amp

o and then ground the amp to the chassis....find a nice spot where a bolt is and sand it down...

thats basically it...dont connect the main power to the battery when you are doing all of this
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

        Amp Kit

Okay i got everything ready but im not sure about the power cable. The power cable has a thinner wire next to it, like this
________ <--Do i use this for the remote?
        =======
        ________

Also the rca cables has a thin wire that says "Do not use as remote, Drain wire only" What does this mean? is it another ground wire?

im guessing the one on the rca is a single wire, u can use that as the remote but if u get engine noise then you would have to run another line.

the power wire is the red thick wire. there should only be 2 thick wires, power and ground.

use the copper one for power...and silver for ground

          can u post a pic?

              Rca cable

this is the pic from the rca cable. The exact message from the sticker says "Caution. Drain wire only. Do not use as a a remote wire."

the power wire looks odd with that smaller wire with it... never seen that befor

as for the "drain wire" DO NOT HOOK IT UP AS REMOTE it is a ground wire use it to keep ground signal near the RCA's
helps kee the alternator wine out as well as turn off thump associated whit cheap amps (and i would bet they are cheaper (yet good) RCA's)
i would say to either tap it into the ground on the deck and the ground on the amp or tape off the ends and leave it alone

The thinner wire next to the power, im thinking im going to use it as the remote. Ive saw the same type of wire on my neighbors set up. Ill probably ask him to let me see where its connected to before i decide to use it as a remote wire.

Here are some links that may help....

                      http://www.installdr.com/

I dont know what that wire is because usually the remote wire is attached to the wires that you attach to the headunit. But I wired up my system a different way. Good Luck. And if you ever feel really lost always go to a pro before screwing something up.
