    Amp help

Looking for the a great amp. i had a Precision Power PC4100 (cant be replaced) but it got jacked.
IM looking at the new diamonds, old Pheonix gold tatanium series, or memphis.
somthing thats great that you normaly see, somthing that just dosent straght up pounds but sounds hits hard and sounds awsome, if you know what i mean. like the PP i had.

gonna be for 3 JLw6v2, prolly at 1 ohm or 2. and is around 600w or more.

staying away from JL, Rockford, MTX so dont suggest it unless you know somthing about them that i dont

what's wrong with JL and MTX...both are great brands...i love MTX, i've had two thunder amps bumping for over 10 years now..
not only are they utterly reliable, they are underrated as well...

Dont get me wrong i love jl's subs but i think they are still getting the feel for getting a great amp made. just not wat im looking for. pretty much im just trying to find the same make and sound quality amps like the old presicion power befor being bought out by orion and the old PG's titanium seires. and im hearing that diamond and perticular Memphis series are just that. but i was wondering if anyone here new more about that.

Just soo you know PP arnt all they are cracked up to be, im not saying they are bad, and Rockford makes some great amps BTW the Punch series hits extremly hard with quality base and is still affordable IMO.

alright, what about MTX...have you even owned an MTX product...i seriously doubt it, even though you are putting them down, cuz if you had owned an MTX amp, you wouldn't have said something that stupid

You have subs made for sound quality that were tuned around JL amps and their own equipment yet you want to stay away. If its a matter of price I might understand, But aye your preference right.

yeah I don't get the whole staying away from JL amps. I mean the 500/1 and 1000/1 are some of the hottest amps right now. A little overated? Maybe. But I've never ever heard bad things about the JL monoblocks.

I also feel obligated to mention Zapco. I live in the town they're made. But aside from that, you can go wrong with Zapco.

First off all, welcome all the newcomers even though you guys aren't really new. It looks like you guys just ain't been posting much, which is absolutely fine. But back to the amp...I had an MTX 8001 that will rip that PPI you had to pieces. I'm not trying to diss you, I'm just saying that you don't sound like an MTX user and therefore, might not really know the power and quality they put out. Also, if you were a PPI fan, did you know that DEI (maker of Viper alarms) bought out Orion, PPI, and A/D/S? Since then, they make some of the best amps around. Memphis is also a good brand but their amps are regulated, meaning at 14.4 volts, you will get no more that the advertised power, same with JL amps. JL amps are a bit pricey but will put out clean power. They are not overrated, whoever that was that said they were. There is alot more to choosing an amp besides the brand. How many ohms are you loading the amp with? How reliable is your electrical sytem? If you ask for others to recommend an amp but want something like what you had before, then it looks like you have already chose your amp; another old PPI amp.

Oh, and before I forget. To the person who traded the Zapco 600 for the Audiobahns, bad choice. Zapco is far more superior than Audiobahn. I swear ya'll got the gain ll the way up to make a switch like that .

Couldn't of been done without you guys

not trying to piss anyone off

Well i havent chosen anything yet. the precision power before geting bought out be orion was great then but there is def better now and im trying to fing that amp.

as far as putting down MTX i never put them down just saying what i have heard from there stuff wasent what i was looking for, but then again i didnt know the model it was. thats why im asking for "advice." i told you what i was staying away from, not what i was completly againt. if you know a great amp, tell me. just dont get upset cuz i might not feel the same way.

Don't get me wrong. I wasn't trying to be a dick and definately was not upset. I'm in no way on any bandwagon as I've owned many different pieces of equipment. I know of the power you are talking about when you mention the PPI amp. First things first; which voice coil configuration are you DEFINATELY going with and how many subs, so I'll know the final ohm load. From there, I can help you decide on an amp since I have 3 12W6's myself.
