problem with sony cd player

Ok i have a similar model sony as the one shown. heres my problem some of my buttons r not doin what there suppose to do, they do what otha buttons do, such to turn the vol up i have to hit display to turn it down i hit the close bottom. change song i hit menu and so on, the radio wasnt dropped or any lliquids poured in it. is this a sign that is on its death bed?

Hmmmm.... havent ever heard of one doin that, did you buy it new?? b/c if its a detachable face, it might be from another head unit, like a previous model??? i dont know, its just a guess..

Contact sony, see what they say. Is this a touch-screen unit.....I cant' remember? I have had bad experinces with the sony head units, I prefer Eclipse or Alpine, even Pioneer ain't bad. Try to avoid the Kennwoods, when I installed we sent soooooo many of those out for service along with the Sony's. Good luck to you.

no touch screen, and its the motorized flip face so i doesnt come off, it just looks black so if its not there

first try resetting it (unplug it for a few minutes) if the problem is still there its probably done for.

I'm on my 2nd xplode stereo, the first one was used for about 2+yrs and the radio stopped working in in but stll plays cd's great (Model #:CDA-CA650X).

But the Sony I have in my car now hasn't given me any problems(Model #: CDX-F5700)

I just installed a Pioneer (Model #: DEH-P3700MP) in my sister's CR-V last month and its osunds great...better than both my Sony's have....Pioneer will be the next one I buy when I decide to upgrade.

Ih ad a sony deck where my illumintion shot saem with my volume. What I did was ran a swtich with a wiere to my battery and to ym headunit, hooked it to my antenna cord and it worked then but I had to turn my headunit on and off with a switch

i've had some bad experiences with sony...i have used sony, panasonic, alpine, pioneer, blaupunkt...the best one imo has got to be with alpine

The best thing to do IMO is to get rid of the sony! Alpine, JVC, Pioneer, Rockford Fosgate and ECLIPSE especially are great but dont cheap out! Look for ones with 4 or 5 volt preouts, etc. Remember that the quality of your music comes from the cd and its player! I have had only problems with sony! Except ps2 lol! If you love the deck send it in for service, but they prob wont guarantee anything either! Peace
