head unit mounting

ok dont flame i already searched and didnt find anything that suited my liking

I wanna know if any one has mounted a single din aftermarket radioe differently?

Differently meaning something other than the gaudy cheapo kit from best buy or circuit city ?

like a custom plate or something like that ?

ive seen it done but imo the bes buy / tweeter /circut city kit is the best. unless youre doin a screen there(non flip out) and knock the radio down to the cupholder spot or ashtray

i used a cheap kit so I could make a custom display for my radar dector. They dont fit as well

I fabbed this up with some wood, screws, and a 1/8" piece of aluminum.

Bottom of the unit: one din tray.
