    did you see these?:

instructions are there for a reason... mounting to the back of the seat can be done, but it's a half ass way to do it.

absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

What kind of amp? And does it have any fans Underneath it?
Yes you can mount it to the back seat but if it was me I would get a piece of plywood or mdf and screw that onto the seat first and then mount the amp onto that. But just screwing it into the sheet metal is no biggie either, just don't use to long screws because it will go straight through the seat and stab your passengers.

care to explain how this is a "half ass way to do it" i dont see why there is a need for plywood. attached is a pic of my 4channel on the back of the seat, i cant find the pic with both my amps on there, ill have to take another one, but i thought my amp mounting was pretty decent

Looks pretty good, I just fabbed up a drop bracket and hung my Alpine from the rear decklid......takes up no space at all, and the cooling is good. That might be your only concern when mounting to a carpeted surface.

man, that is nice, if i didn't have two amps and a rack already made into my box, i'd look into doing that, that is clean!! good job man!!

I have my amp mounted on the back of my seat and it sounds like its supposed to...it doesnt overheat or anything....the only problem i did have was the screws didnt hold very well and it was basically just screwed into the plastic....but ive since fixed that.....and maroonaccord2.2 nice amp placement

Just don't mount it upside down. Supposedly mounting it upside down will effect the AMP's ability to cool.
