k if u have a 90exr you have 4inch speakers in the front and like u said 6x9s in the back.

i personally have some 4 inch infinity 2way reference speakers in the front that i got from future shop and they sound really good. in the back i would do type s or type r speakers by alpine. i also listen to mostly hiphop/rap and with my setup im running 2 JL 12w0's and it sounds killer considering im running 100w RMS. so to sum it up, go for the alpine type r's, if your short on money the type s' or infinity speakers...

for the front speakers, i would do infinity's and for the rear i would do the 6x9 Alpine type-s. I have the alpine type-r's in the rear with the 6.5 size, but the depth is too deep, so thats the only reason i don't recommend the type-r's.

Check out circuit city and best buy for clearances on speakers.

Eh I would get some MB Quarts for the front's Either the Premium series or the Q series and some infinity reference for the rear's.

I recently got the current gen alpine type e 6/9's + I have old school type s's in the front hooked up to an alpine 40w/4 amp and it sounds incredibly clear. If you are going to run subs don't get higher than type S it's not necessary you'll get plenty of highs and mids with the e or s series and they are all around incredibly clear. Infinities are also good. Ebay is not a bad thing man just about anything even name brand audio you can get new in general for about 1/3 less. Paid $144 for the amp and it's currently $204+tax at best buy. Just do your homework (read seller reviews and see the general attitude towards customers you can tell which ones might be likely to give you a bad deal)
                        oh and have fun...

Oh and dude if you are a hip-hop head def. get a sub. I can't turn the bass up to much on the amp with my e (low end!) alpines without some rather anoying deck rattle. I've had a few subs setups (last one got stolen) and every one has had ppl in shock for sound vs/how little I spent. Good speakers+good HU+ good sub+ tweeters!= I had some cheap $5 tweets, a $130 clarion HU, a 12" legacy blue diamond (mid range for legacy but still only a $45 sub) hooked up to a Rockford Fosgate amp I got used for $50 and some cheap lightning audio speakers all around. ttl was like $350 and ppl didn't believe their ears for that price... later got a power acoustick 10" FUBR for $63 from amazon which was even better(subs not recognized as much as they should be, incredible db for your buck). Creativity in your setup, a little time spent on research and ebay=much more sound for much less $$
