Because most people would prefer to do it right the first time and not waste more money then needed to replace the "cool monitor" if it breaks. If your cool with just having the thing work and not worry about its build quality then thats alright with me.Originally posted by StoobyMcDoobyIt is my belief that any car with an in dash player, is a cool car. Even the shitiest car in the world would be cool with an in dash.
And hey, imo, if it works, its cool. Who cares what brand it is? You're a loser if you are complaining because jensen isnt "HDTV" or some shit. It's still a monitor, and its still in your car. I dont believe this is one of those things that 'you will regret if you dont do it right'.
Go for it

The first MP3 playing CD player I ever had was a Jensen. The functionality, while limited, was great. I wish my Pioneer did things that my Jensen did.
However, the Jensen stopped working after 2 months. 3 months later it started working again. Worked fine for 2 more years, and crapped out one last time. It just stopped playing CDs. It may be fixable, but I dunno...
I've had Pioneer ever since, and I must say... aside from some not-so-simple operation, Pioneer is MUCH better.
That Jensen thing is cool, but it's a gamble. It may flake on you sooner than you'd expect. I'm eventually planning on buying a Pioneer unit myself.

i havent checked lately cause i havent been keeping up but jensen use to not make their own tvs, clarion used to make it for them, thats why the menu features and even the buttons were vertually the same ...

Jensen is owned by audiovox.
I've always considered Jensen and good alternative. I'm a Pioneer guy but I've used jensen occasionallyl. The new dvd units are actually pretty good. I purchased the flip out unit 2 years ago and was working fine until I traded for the Double DIN unit which has worked great for the past 3 months. Picture quality is good and functionality is too. It's also upgradable to navigation.
I've seen that JVC and I'd much rather use the JEnsen.
Of course there are other units that are better and more expensive but this Jensen can be had for <$500.
I'll save up for the Pioneer AVIC Z1 for my CB but the Jensen does everything I need for now for less than 1/4 the price.
MY opinion.
