6x9 Replace

Hey hey! So i work at circuit city now. Great discounts .. anyways, so if i replace the rear 6x9's, can i/do i, do away with the pods all together? do i just set the new speakers in and dont worry at all about the pods? because ive seen some people who dont have pods, and some who do with aftermarket speakers.... i understand i might need to trim the tension rods for trunk lid.. im just wondering, is it possible to put aftermarket 6x9's in the pods? i feel stupid for asking.

it is not possible to put 6x9 speakers in the 6.5 inch speaker pods, but if you are looking to buy 6x9 speaker pods i have 3 pairs for sale here is the link

i only have tan right now but let me know, this is the cheapest i've ever seen 6x9 pods and these are all in great condition, check the thread for further details

p.s. i have 6x9 pioneer 300 watt speakers in pods just like these and it is a stock replacement that will need no modification so if u want 6x9s this is your best option

ugh, reading owns me, i jumped the gun on the whole thing so disreguard my whole last post. if you are looking to just take out your stock 6x9 speakers and put in some new ones that i'd say 8 times outta 10 most aftermarket speaker will fit in stock 6x9 pods like you have. but i do recommend keeping your stock pods and not trying to mount the 6x9s without the pods.

possible? yes
but will be ghetto unless you build your own mount out of wood or something but even then why not just use the pods?
