    Connecting 3 oem dins?

Is there any aftermarket wiring harness that can connect 3 oem dins? For instance, if you have a regular CB7 oem tape deck+cd slave+ equalizer...how would you get all 3 to work at the same time?

The CD slave or equalizer are seperate units that require to be plugged inline with the oem tape deck to function....but there is only one slot for it in the back of the tape deck. (CD/EQ slot)

I was thinking of making my own custom Y adapter by going to the junkyard and taking the inside radio 2 female and 1 male ends from 2 hondas decks there so I won't have to splice into the original deck harnesses I have.

This is an example of my current problem but i'm actually running a oem tape deck inline with my jdm tv/navigation. The tv/nav uses the cd/eq slot and it needs the jdm unit and oem l harness that came with it to work. I wanted to improve my sound features and purchased a mint factory equalizer. Right now I can get all 3 to work...but when I power on the screen, I won't get sound out of it unltess I unplug the equalizer and plug in the screen instead.

Is this job easy as splicing wires? If splicing wires would work...then I'm going to go ahead and make my own custom harness to make it clean.

    i wonder.

i wonder how hard it would be to find the pinouts... thatd give you more of a clue of what would have to be done.

this may end up being of some help: http://www.tkk.fi/Misc/Electronics/c...s/linesum.html

i know what youre asking but im curious to see how the audio feeds are looped thru the pins. i know the oem deck will lose audio without the butt plug in the back of it, unless you have the EQ connected.

it may not just be a splitter that you need but maybe to have it route some of the pins from the radio -> TV -> EQ and back to the radio for it to work, as the actual speaker outputs come from the tape deck.

OR perhaps youll need to use the above link to combine the output pins of the deck and TV, then feed them combined into the EQ, and the single output back to the deck.

Hey, I think I may be able to help you. On the back of the OEM tape deck, we have a 8 pin DIN connector (round plug) which connects to factory Equalizers or a CD player. A few years ago, I traced the radio circuit for a custom application and the following are the pins which would be the same on the back of the equalizer & navi. (sorry I don't remember pin numbers but if you are willing to wait 2 weeks I can dig them up otherwise you'll have to use a multi meter, a spare 8 pin din cable and headphones to test the pins):

Plug Shield (Silver part on connector) - Chasis Ground
      Pin: Audio Ground
Pin: Audio Right Channel Out Constant (i.e. not amplified)
Pin: Audio Left Channel Out Constant (i.e. not amplified)
      Pin: Right Channel Audio In
      Pin: Left Channel Audio In
      Pin: Voltage Ground
      Pin: Ignition
      Pin: Battery

Note these audio pins are not amplified outputs (i.e. these are CLEAN RCA level signals coming from the factory deck).

Basically if you splice the right & left audio inputs on the EQ cable using one 12 volt DPDT relay (general purpose electronic not automotive type), you will gain one extra input which can go to your aux source (e.g. the Navigation, or any other device DVD, ipod, etc). Note that in this configuration, you can use the 12V remote on wire from your monitor to turn on the relay and direct the signal from the nav to the EQ and then send the audio signal to the factory radio for amplification. When you turn off the monitor, the relay will default back to the signal connected to its common terminals (i.e. the original factory radio signals) and send it through the eq. In your case however I would use a separate switch to send 12v to the relay so that you dont have to turn off the navigation to switch back to the radio...

Note if you simply make a Y cable, you run the risk of sending a higher voltage signal to the input of the factory deck, also it would not work since both the radio signal and monitor signal would be summed (i.e. playing at the same time), this is why a relay should be used to isolate the signals.

Its kind of hard to explain without a picture but feel free to ask if you have any questions, hope this helps. BTW. Does the factory eq have any aux inputs on it?
