Having dealt with filled mounts and inserts, I chose inserts. They are inexpensive, and ARE effective.
The only real difference between poly filled and inserts is that 1) filled mounts don't have a warranty and 2) The insert can be taken out. The inserts don't go in all loose, they have to be pushed in and they are so thick that they are supported by the mount bracket, so it isn't like they are going anywhere. I would be willing to bet $$ that if you measured the effect of both the ES insert and a similarly filled mount that there would be no real tangible difference in function, if you use the softer poly compound. The only real insert disadvantage is that you can't fill all mounts.
I also have no torque hop, torque steer or any other issues that would indicate the mount not doing its job.
Vibration is minimal with an ES front mount. I once had the Prothane rear insert in my car too, and took it out because it was absolutely ridiculous for a DD as far as I am concerned.
