Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Fuel cutting...TPS problem?

so i was driving my car today leaving work and i had let it warm up and everything....just did the H22 swap this past weekend...as i was going home i was gonna let it hit vtec just in 2nd. As the rpm's started to climb it acts like its fuel cutting. It jerks and bogs as the rpm's go up. In 1st gear it will hit vtech but stop about 5000 or so. After i shift it will bog even at like 2500 and i got it up to like 4 grand and it was horrible. I was told it was the TPS was loose. I got home and the bottom screw holding it in once backed out so i put it back in. It still runs like ass. Does anyone know what the deal is?

k, so get out a voltmeter, set it to dc voltage. Find the red wire going to the tps sensor. probe it with the red lead. probe the block lead to a ground. Turn the key on. loosen the tps screws and turn the tps back and forth until you get .45 volts and tighten it down. You may not be able to get .45 volts but thats what the spec is.

I was reading the Prelude factory service manual on the plane last night and it had a graph and it said .5 v with trottle closed and 5 v with it at WOT. So, close to it would be within spec.

this may sound stupid, but check your oil level. My friend has a B18C EG hatch and when he first got it he was driving like crazy w/ no oil. so yeah no oil will make VTEC not work and it'll go into limp mode.
