Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Exhaust and header questions

I'm running a rs*r header with down pipe to a stock collector that was welded on. If i'm not mistaken the stock h22 collector is 2.25"? Then I have a stock cat which goes into a apexi ws2.

I was thinking of just running a ebay text pipe deal with 2.25 in and 2.25 out so everything would be matched. Would that be my best bet for maximum preformance? Would there be any benefit to increase the size of the collector even though it be dumping into a 2.25" diameter exhaust? Also the down pipe has a few dings in it would that have any effect on performance?

Getting a test pipe would increase power and torque, but I wouldn't get an Ebay one. I'm not quite sure that the size of the collector is though.

      h22 usdm collector = 2.25
      h22 jdm collector = 2.50

if ur running the h22, try to go with at least a 2.5 all the way!

Whats the difference between ebay and if I got a pipe welded together? The ebay ones look like small resonators which might mean their would be less raspyness then just a pipe.

I believe im running the jdm down pipe, not sure though. Found out today that there wouldnt really be a point in increasing the size of the collector if your exhaust is 2.25 anyway.

I have a 2.5" test pipe/resonator off of ebay. As of now I have the stock header, then the test pipe, into a Greddy Evo2 catback. I thought I was just buying some junk ebay brand of test pipe, and it turned out to be Skunk 2 (which was weird, because they didn't advertise any brand name). If you have an h22, you might as well buy the 2.5" test pipe for now, so you don't have to later, when you get a 2.5" exhaust (you really should if you have an h22).
