    Magnaflow catback users inside...

I am looking to purchasing this catback for my accord. The part number is 15687. I can pick it up for 305 before shipping. But I was wondering if I could just buy the muffler from that 15687 and use my stock piping. Just save me some cash.

I am just trying to diagnose this damn pingy noise and I am curious if its from the stock muffler or stock catback. I am hoping its the muffler so I can replace that with the catback and screw the cat. Anyway, any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Ok, you do realize if you add a "muffler" on stock piping it's going to give a really bad exhaust tone off eventually, if not instantly. Second, you can find just magaflow mufflers all over ebay, and many online retailers. BTW, i like their systems, sound great on the whole. And your noise, could be a number of things, but I'd put money on that the pingy noise is directly from the muffler itself.

If it's going to sound like crap, I am going to order the whole catback. Thanks for the info.

Maybe I should stop by a muffler shop and see what they say

Not really. I just put on a Ractive axle back, onto some brand new stock piping, and it sounds very deep. And deep = goodness.

I could always have a exhaust shop just bend new pipes for the magnaflow exhaust. That way it will sound the same, just not as much money

my exhaust setup is magnaflow hi flo cat, magnaflow dual tip mirror series muffler and 2.25" mandrel bent piping... no resonator... really really loud... sounds fuckin awesome... i love it. except the cops don't like it....

past 3000 rpm my exhaust is really loud... droning on the high way... but i really like the way it sounds... i'd only wish for a quieter exhaust so that i don't get harassed by po po...

but my setup is custom and it doesn't sound like shit... u can ask people at the nj northeast meets... they've heard my car... lol.

as for sound clips... my car pretty much sounds like the clips on magnaflows website... just louder... perhaps cus i don't have a resonator on

I decided to hold off on buying an exhaust. I know that if I throw an exhaust on the Honda, I am going to be laying into the throttle every chance that I get. I don't want to beat on my car like that plus I want to keep the gas mileage pretty high.

So, I'll be sticking with the stock exhaust. But...she'll be getting a remote start with a timer so that I can have it start up at a certain time. Like say I get out of class at 1030am, I can have it start at 1030 and by the time I make it to the car, it'll be warm.

But...if you do get some soundclips, that'd be awesome

I'll save the exhaust for when I graduate and can put some money in the car
