Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

The p28 does not have a knock sensor, It does not check for EGR I belive and it has Vtec stock.

Eh You can do all those with a P06 and its way cheaper.

A p06 is not vtec and i think it doesn't check for a knock sensor either. If your looking for one check out my ebay auction. Also there easy to chip which is the real reason why everyone goes for the civic computers.

p28s and p06s are chippable ecu's as opposed to the p13 which is not. If you get a chipped p28 you can add/delete knock sensors, egr, iabs, even the o2 sensor if you really want to. plus once you get some mods done you can reburn a new basemap for better accommodation of your new mods.

in short, a chipped p28 opens more doors for the future modification of your H

You can't add the knock sensor into the P28, The ecu physically does not have the knock board.

Most civic ecu's share the same board, Thus can be converted to any of each other ecu. For example I've taken a P06 and added in Vtec, And then added in the IAB control, Thus making this ecu into a GSR P72 without the knock sensor.

sounds like imma have to go for the p28. I would like to thank yall for giving me the info on it, i needed to know the difference and why. the p13 really is a waste of time if u thinking about moding out your car.

P13s are chippable. The reason (that Ive read) no one does it is because Accord and Prelude ECUs use multiplication based fuel maps, while Civic and Integra ECUs use addition based fuel maps. Which one do you think is easier to tune?

The only reason to get a chipped ecu is to TUNE it to extract every last hp out of your engine and modifications. If youre just going to get a chipped ecu to have a chipped ecu, dont waste your time or money, because itll be useless without a TUNE. Proper tunes cost money. Tuning yourself requires a lot of time, including learning software, learning MORE about air/fuel ratios and MORE about what each part of your fuel system does, not to mention finding an empty stretch of road to tune on or renting (or knowing someone with) a dyno. If you wanna do it right. Otherwise, youll just have the same old motor with the same old power, unless you get a shitty basemap, in which case youll have the same old motor with a lot less power.
