Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    !!!Spark!!!

The baseline dyno on my stock H22A1 before I pulled it out of my donor car showed that I have either a bad plug or bad wire (I was also made aware of an exhaust leak), but I figure that I will replace both.

    1. Anybody have any suggestions on what type of wires would be best for an H22? Future plans are ignition upgrades and possibly a turbo, so I'd like the new wires to be up to the task when I pay off my honeymoon and am able to continue my project.

    2. What would be the advantage of using thicker wires? Why would MSD use only 8.5mm if bigger is better?

    3. What are the best plugs to use on a mostly stock H22?

If nobody can convince me that it's a bad idea, I'll go with MSD part #M4632383

Thanks in advance for your input!

I would just use oem or ngk wires they still hold up to 400 ish hp if not more. They are bulletproof. Just run OEM plugs they are good enough and cheap.

Does nobody know the answer (or can point me to a resource/thread) to my second question?

            Go to:

            http://www.sparkplugs.com/

Get the NGK wires and plugs for your car. You can choose to go copper plugs and replace every 15-20K miles (easy on our 4 cylinders) or you can choose to spend more on iridium plugs and change them at longer intervals. For a DD I go copper, since I do regular maintenance anyways and it is so easy on our motors.
