turn down exhaust system?

im wanting to put a 3" exhaust with my built setup and was wondering if i can run it straight back from the downpipe and make a turn down before it hits the two 90 degree bends.

the car isnt going to be ont he street but im going to still run a race muffler just to make sound regulations at tracks.

there's a guy named 98vtec who's on here and on preludepower, his exhaust ends right before the gas tank. Looks pretty nice and he's running 3 inch piping too on the h23 vtec.

so from the header back it's going to be (piping-muffler-turndown)? it will be fine, you can order turndowns in all sizes from ebay for cheap

This is exactly what I was running for over a year on my accord.
It was a straight pipe, but it sounded nasty with the cam.
I'm pretty sure my accord is going back to this soon as well.

I ran mine with 3" exhaust, Magnaflow muffler with a turndown before the 90* bends and open wastegate. It was loud as absolute shit regardless of the muffler.

it wont be super loud, after the header, there will be a muffler. do back to back cherry bombs
