From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

F20A DOHC NON-VTEC head swap information

What up, CB7Tuners? Just wondering if any modifications have to be made in order for the F20A DOHC Non-VTEC head to fit? One member here has one mounted onto his stock F22A1 block, but little information has been given about these areas of the engine that has been changed or modified. I have searched for some info about this swap, but little to no info was found (Just threads dealing with the F22B head swap). I would like some useful information you may have about this swap I should know about (I.E. modifications to any hoses, IM, bolt patterns, fuel rails, distributor, alternator, timing belt, injectors, ECU, etc, etc) If it's a direct bolt in, any information about that area would be helpful as well.

    Thanks.

Basically cause I don't want to pull my block to add any pistons. I want to increase my HP by adding another head and be different at the same time.

not 100% tru. to put a h23 head on a f block you need to honda bond one of the blind holes on the head. but on the f22b you don't have to.

so it would depend on if the f20 head is like the f22b or the h23.

Well credit on bein diff meng, but she's possible, there's a diy on here for h23 head swap, follow that, also buy some Haynes Manuels

            90-93 cb
            92-96 Lude

            take your time meng.

Push come to shove meng, get a bisi cam for ur sohc. @ least a level 2, h23 mani, and chipped ecu, ull b happy for now, and what a lot of peopke 4 get is that no matter how much work they do on the motor, the gear ratio of the trans is the same, upgrade to a h23 of f22b1 accord trans.

The F20A DOHC and F22B DOHC heads are exactly the same. The H23 head is the different head. On those 2 heads you can use the F22ax headgasket as well when you do the head swap unlike the h23 head you would use the F23 headgasket. also the head bores of those 2 said heads are the same bore as the f22 blocks @ 85mm, unlike the h23 head bore is 87mm.

you would use the f22 water pump still, h23 or gsr t-belt, h23 would be a lil loose with max tension and the gsr belt im told is tight but works.

everything valvetrain is the same between F20, F22, and H23 DOHC head though.

The F20A and F22B head are stamped PT2, They are the same as mentioned. The combustion chambers differer between the h23 and PT2 heads

Wouldn't the GSR t-belt snap by being a tight fit? And the H23 belt seems a little too loose for my style of driving. Actually it seems like both of them wouldn't suit my driving style either (fast is more of my style). Is there any other belt that would work? Also, would my F22A1 alternator drain any power or performance with the new head swap?

Good luck finding an F20A head at a Junk yard!!! They were only produced in Japan.

in the end though a bisimoto stg2 cam or a delta 272 would be cheaper and easier upgrade. but if you insist on pulling off the head do a mild port job, better valvesprings and de-shroud the valves. you'll make more power doing that with a delta 272 than the head swap and in the end it'll probably come out cheaper.
