Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.


The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.


For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.


Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    Digital Propane Injector (DPI System)

    Does anyone know if these work on gasoline cars? I have heard of trucks using them before with significant HP and TQ gains but I have never head of a regular gas car using them.

    I'm pretty sure that Propane injection is for diesel engines...I don't think it works with gasoline, compression ratio is too low.

      cars can run on propane can't they? They use it for testing, I've read it somewhere in the service manual...propane is cheaper than gas

        yep for diesels. the guys on trucks used a kit for there showdown with the horsepower guys

              Yes. This is how fork lifts and some offroad vehicles work. They require a special carburator and propane regulator, but that's about it.

                when you don't want the added boost of propane, an easy flip of a switch shuts the Superchips DPI System down.

                  x2 my 71 chevy truck was running off propane when i first bought it. The people i bought it from was using it for farm work. it had its original 305 engine but had a custom carb and gas tank. I had to rebuild the engine to get it runnig of gas again.

                    Most of the buses here in NYC run on CNG. Also I seen something interesting once. The mothers polish team created a car that produced 1000hp and ran on propane. Let me see if I can find the link.
