Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Seriously.. Basic maintenance is required on even Hondas! Blow an engine or a tranny, several times, then you can complain. My honda's needed a tonnes of parts, but its also a 14 yr old car that has mostly original major components..

Cars are an expense, even mighty HONDAS!

IMO honda's are one of the EASIEST cars to work on NTM parts are fairly cheap. I changed the plugs and wires on my dads dakota today....yea 2.5 hours later versus in my honda it takes all of 15 minutes.

you've got anywhere from a 15-12 year old car, I dont know what year yours is, it's going to have probelms. Alternators die, batterys die, every car has components that wear out. The good thing about honda's is that it's not major components that go all that often. such as engines and trannys.. talk to anyone with a 15-12 year old car, they need maintainence, and that includes putting in batteries and alternators. Stuff wears out and dies.

As far as putting a new battery and alternator in, you should be able to do to that yourself, dont pay for the labor.. it takes like 2 hours to do.

LOL It was a rant...I'm sorry I never put my disclaimer up on this board..so this is my fault. I have been through the mill with cars already, I was just bitching to stir some comotion. I have actually come to like and respect my Honda just as much as I respected my Toyotas.

Sorry bout the confusion, I'm not a hater or someone who doesn't know their way around an engine bay.

I actually bought this car from my parents out of their mercy for money and just decided to make a clean up project out of it and hopefully soon, sell it back to them after it is in good working order.

                          I agree

                          I have a 91 cb7, cutlass supreme '82, and a ford falcon '66,
and believe, it's more easy to work in honda, and yes it's not easy to understand all at same time.

The cb7 it's not a brand new car, and they need work and maintenance, it's like a little dog, take care and they'll last longer.

Finally i pay 1700dlls for my cb7 with 245000 miles and believe this car needs a lot of work, but thats the reason that i bought the car, i like to fix the car and understand.

All day's whe learn something new, and the biggest evidence of quality of Honda it's our cb7 they have at least 14 years running.
                          Razer.-

how many miles on your car (original poster)?

i bet in relation to the mileage on ur car, it's not all that bad. better then most cars, you'll see...unless your cb7 was abused...even then it'll still run, but like crap.

we have a 220K mile 91 SE auto and a 267K mile EX 5-spd. when they both neared or hit the 200K mile mark, suspension bushings dry rotted bad, reman. brake calipers were needed, one needed a reman. brake master cyl...parking brake cables, starter assembly on one, clutch on one...we buy good quality high cranking amp batteries (last a while). i consider that normal maintenance for this old of a car with that many miles. for original parts, Honda parts last a hella long time. but if you bought the car when it's neared it's maintenance mark....then it's just bad timing man...not that the car is bad....less it was abused like i said before.

I bought the car from my parents who took pretty decent care of it. When I got it it was leaking oil from th valve cover so I fixed all that, just put a new alternater and ignition switch in and everything seems to working very well now.

My original post was just to bitch..I really don't consider the car a POS or in bad chape at all. It just needs some paint.
