Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    cheap f22 valvetrain (new idea)

found some interesting things on importperformanceparts.net
For the F22B2 or B6 Ferrea's dual spring turbo part # is S10026, which is the same as the B18C, and the B16, the only difference is the seat locator. which is part# SL1010. An interesting thing to note is that within different motors with different valvesprings (ie turbo apps vs all motor apps) they give you different seat locators.

so theoretically if you buy the ferrea seat locators you could use B or H series valvesprings. Unless they make them specifically only to work with Ferrea valvesprings, which would be really ***. But the Ferrea seat locators are only 3.99 apiece.

I'm not really sure about the the valve differences so I would like to know about this too. I know the port spacing and some other things are different with the f22b so it might not work.

well i bought a seat locator, at least i ordered it, i hope they sell me just one. Soon we will know, i figure that it is definitely possible to use gsr/h22 springs in the f22 head, the only trick would be finding the right seat locator.

I found this by doing a search for valve spring seat locators on Google, also might look for "valve spring seats" They have different sizes plus shims for really cheap.

also check here to see where a guy tried h22 valvesprings in the f22 using the stock valveseats, but stopped there.

Well that guy zigenballz posts on here too. From what you've shown me it seems very possible. Are you going to try it out? Please let us all know if you do because I think it would be very cool if it works.

              yeah we're gonna try it.

Just got the head in today w00t!, then went and got a spare dual gsr valvespring to test fit it, w00t! now i need a valve spring compressor, which my friend has, and i need the seat locator to come in the mail.

if that works that will rock, but i'm expecting to have to use some shims, probably the best way to go will be all oem b/h-series from the seat locators to the retainers with shims to make it fit.

well, I'm resurecting this post, the company wouldn't send me just one seat locator, you have to buy the set. But, I was looking on f22parts.com, and found pics of the Ferrea dual valvesprings. You can see how big the seat locator is

The thing is, only the intake side of the GSR gets dual valve springs, so maybe we could just use the single springs on the exhaust side since it's less agressive on most cams, or find 8 more GSR intake dual-springs.

just intresting that i finally found a pic and my suspicions were confirmed

he used a shim spacer under the ferrea valvetrain because the installed height was too short for a F22 head....you can make that ferrea valvetrain work but with the machine work to your head that you have to do to make it work, plus the expensive Ferrea parts it will cost you close to $1000....Dave at f22parts.com can do it for you though, if you're really interested...or you can get his single spring upgrade for $450 ish
