since ive had my car i've bought two different headers for it. they are both kinda cheap and they keep blowing out the gasket between the downpipe and header. What would be the best way to fix this? Is there a brand name header that has a different type of gasket, maybe one like the o-ring crush gasket?

thats the weird part, b/c on the first header it kept blowing out b/c my cat was clogged but now i have a ceramic header and its pretty much a straight pipe to the muffler. could it be b/c i need a resonator?Originally posted by trah View Posttake the racoon out of your exhaust and BAM! your done.
seems that your creating alot of backpressure to blow those gaskets. Maybe your exhaust system is not flowing right. Check your entire exhaust system starting from the cat all the way back.My cb7

so now your catless? if you still are using that clogged cat replace it. having a resonator would not matter, the resonator just resonates the sound waves of exhaust to tone it down. Also did you do anything to the timing?Originally posted by f22a1accord View Postthats the weird part, b/c on the first header it kept blowing out b/c my cat was clogged but now i have a ceramic header and its pretty much a straight pipe to the muffler. could it be b/c i need a resonator?either kill it or drift it...

I don't think so. If anything it shud have helped it. Did you remove the old exhaust, or did someone else do it for you?91 ex auto-sold!Originally posted by nine_deuceWhat I'd do is this: spray brake fluid in her eyes, shoot her with a nail gun, while she's down, give her a "chili dog" or a "strawberry shortcake" a "rusty fish hook is always fun"

it's the same cat just gutted and had a pipe squeezed into it by my pipe bender. so it's like a straight pipe to the muffler. there is nothing clogging it and i havnt messed with the timing since ive owned the car. i am about to replace the timing belt thoughOriginally posted by trah View Postso now your catless? if you still are using that clogged cat replace it. having a resonator would not matter, the resonator just resonates the sound waves of exhaust to tone it down.
