Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Ultimate flywheel thread

    Ok so talking about flywheels
What are the different companies with them out?
What are the weights of these flywheels?

Do you think the H22 flywheel/clutch combo is an upgrade?

Just Flywheel talk, do see different set ups and what is available, peimarily for the F22 engine.

sorry to say but i predict this turning into an argument like the one when i first joined the board....but to answer your questions the stock flywheel weighs 18.5lbs. Fidanza, act, exedy, rpm (i think), and several others make flywheels for us. I've seen nothing but " "'s from ppl with fidanza 8lb flywheels. Zigen even called it his favorite mod. The h-series and f-series clutch and flywheel assemblies are interchangeable from everything i've read.

hey, no argument here just post facts please.

      Questions are
      How heavy is stock flywheel?
What are some options for us?
      How heavy are these options?
      No opinionated questions.
      Do H22 flywheels fit?
      THANKS GUYS

I believe midnite pretty much summed it up for you. stock=18-19lbs. fidanza=8lbs. difference, my car now revs like a crotch rocket. are the flywheels intechangeable, YES. this is why some people use the f22 tranny's on there h22/h23 turbo setups for longer gear ratio's. and some use the h22 trannys on all motor f-series for the shorter gears. just like putting a b16 tranny on a LS block or B20 block.

Hey buying a flywheel isnt as easy as buying what people tell you to buy, you need to examine what weight would be optimal for your situation ect, and this thread is to analyze different set ups and attemp to help people looking for a flywheel. Thanks for your usefull comment.

So If you get an h22 oem flywheel and clutch combo, It could be considered an upgrade. Because the h22 obiously has more horspower, i believe the flywheel is slightly lighter too. ill weight them when i get my h22.

But why? unless you can get it for free, because you can get Exedy clutches dirt cheap that hold like 30% more than stock? and you get get fidanza 8.5lb flywheels for 185 dollars shipped?

How is it for daily driving ,freeway cruising ,and stop and go traffic. I've heard mixed reviews on the 8#er. But I think it would be a good upgrade. I also heard it's not good for draging cuz it's hard to get a good launch and you loose some top end speed.
