Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    exhaust manifold gaskets question

has anyone tried this dp gasket from f22parts.com

    http://www.f22parts.com/item_Headergasket.htm....

    or this one
    http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HED-27180/

i have dc header but the two O ring gaskets are not sealing that good. i think they made the gasket seats deeper than they should be... every time i try to accelerate on higher gear i can hear the exhaust leak.

I've tried the second one. Its nice and thick, BUT, like wed3k says, if your flange isn't perfectly true, and you torque the header to the downpipe and the mating surfaces aren't flat, then it'll burn through that gasket. Thats what happened to mine. I ended up just reinstalling my GReddy gasket that came w/ my header and it worked out fine.

That hedman one is made out of a flexible high temp fiber material, kinda nice for awhile, but it did burn through eventually after like 2 months.

the problem with mine is that i have dc header.... they have the groves/ O O shaped for the stock gaskets. but i think they are too deep because when i install the gaskets, they don't even stick out.....

is there any difference in thickness between 90 ex dp gaskets and 93 ex dp gaskets? does anyone know?
