From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Is that after tuning? Buddy there's allot that can be done there, you haven't skimmed the surface yet. I bet you that your car is more then capable of making 200whp. I made 193 at the afr that you are at and I don't have any cams. I'm richer now and keeping the power at 188 whp which is fine to me .

You'll see after some good tuning how everything will just start become more linear and the power will just climb. The car will feel allot better to.

Impressive base numbers none the less. Good Job.

No way... There's allot that can be done with your fuel and ignition tables. Maybe lowering the Vtec to pick up where the low cam begins to fall off, things like that.

What ECU are you running? What other piggy back engine management are you using if any?

                  i have a p72 and a vafc.

how much do you think can be made? i just dont really care to pay for more tuning if im only going to get 5hp. id rather wait awhile until i have more stuff. i want a manifold/tb if it ever comes out. and asap i want a sms header. crower claims 15-18 with the cams. and im assuming a stock h22 with put out about 170(15% drivetrain loss), so im 25whp over that. isnt that about right going by what crower claims?

What did they do just tune the V-AFC? It's not about only making 5hp, You have the potential to make more torque and have a more linear power curve which is really important.

My engine is making 188 hp with almost 156 pounds of torque. That's 6 more pounds of torque then you and you have the larger investment.

You have to find yourself a good tuner because your engine isn't going to reach it's potential using a V-AFC. You need to go in the ECU and tune spark, fuel, aswell as make changes to the Vtec points. Changing them in the V-Afc is not very effective as the ECU hasn't switched ignition or fuel tables till it's internally set point.

I know what you mean about spending more money though, that's understandable. If you're ever in the Maimi area with your car let me know, I'll help you wake the beast up

what do you mean by change spark? and the fuel was changed. they had a laptop hooked up to the ecu. but beyond that i dont know what he was doing. all i know is that everytime he made adjustments in the laptop, the hp increased.

Well Basically your ECU has Ignition and Fuel Maps. Both should be tuned for optimal performance.

What's done to your ECU? How can he adjust it via a laptop on the fly without reburning a chip? Even Hondata requires a chip to be reburned at least at the end of the session if using an emu.

Also if the adjustments where made in the ECU why have the V-AFC?

I think your car has produced some really nice power. I also think that there is much more potential there. I'm having a hard time understanding what engine management you really have. You have a V-AFC but yet they where adjusting a P72 via a laptop. I'm not familiar with it and I'm pretty versed when it comes to this. Maybe you could try to explain it to me?

i purchased the vafc months ago before they had the laptop setup. i was originally going to get a generic chip burned to give me a basic h22 map for the p72 ecu. then they were going to just tune the vafc.

i dont actually know what he did. but for lack of a better description he has a smallish box that had a chipstyle plug on the end. he made fuel adjustments on the latop, then used a serial port to transfer the info to the box's memory. then this box sent the info to the ecu, tricking the ecu into thinking this box was the chip. so he was able to constantly change the afr without having to burn anything. but that i know of he didnt do anything with the ignition, i was just standing back and watching.

ill ask them more specific questions when i get it tuned again. wont be for awhile cause im waiting to get a new header.

btw, if you can check your email when you get a chance. i sent you something i had a couple questions about.
