your not using a tig welder so use argon/co2 mix. 80/20 better when your welding with a wire feeder...

Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

the piece that was cut out is the radiator support, not the frame, they often need to be replaced after a front end colision. It has nothing to do with the cars handeling, you will not feel a difference.1990 accord Honda-Challenge, H22 powered

1991 accord parked, parts and back up shell

From what I understand argon / co2 mix burns hotter than the argon mix I have. I don't remember off the top of my head what it is.
And i doubt that that front cross section doesn't see ANY stress. I never said I was doing this for handling. "making everything work with the maximum amount of room for goodies" My previous bar was cut into and weak. I simply replaced it with a stronger piece and leaving copious amounts of room for an intercooler, piping, and anything else (oil cooler perhaps) I may want to hide in there. But it IS good to point out for those who think it may change the way the car handles significantly. I think the effects of the ESP traction bar and front upper 3 point strut bar would far outweigh any feelings that this modification would give, if any like you said.
And I'm not sure what you would call what I welded the plates to. I'll have to do some "paint" work and make up a diagram. I like to call it my "shit cad" instead of "auto cad" system. lol.Been a long time. Still alive...

Argon and Co2 do not burn, they are just sheilding gasses to keep your pool of melted metal from oxidizing (rusting) while you weld.Originally posted by WilliamW View PostFrom what I understand argon / co2 mix burns hotter than the argon mix I have. there are differences between argon/co2 mix and straight co2 but reading up on it, I think i remember why I have the argon/co2 mixture. Plus the whole bottle was free via industrial workers that came to my work to install a new repair line conveyor system. When they were done they left it. One was 80/20 and one was 90/10. We swapped the 90/10 cylinder out at PraxAir for straight CO2 for our beer taps in the basement
