    muffler help

Okay, the cops have finally started bugging me about the exhaust and was thinking of getting a new one. You can very easily hear my car an 1/8 mile away, maybe even 1/4. And that's from inside a house way off the road.

Anyway, what I'm looking for is first and foremost, something that won't scrape. I was thinking about getting an angled tip. Not too loud and not too big. I get a very raspy sound all the way through the power curve due to cheap headers and muffler. Anybody who knows me should know that I'm gonna wanna go cheap with this. Any suggestions.

I like the apex'i N1 because I don't like how long the tip is. I've always wanted something like that but since the bottom of my tip is angled up quite a bit I want a change. I forget who the guy is but "kings_blend" cb7 with twin angled tips looks pretty sweet and was thinking if they were basically scrape proof then maybe I'd go that route.

I gotta admit though, there's this chick in town with a white cb7, carbon fiber hood, and if I'm not mistaken a big mouth body kit, with dual (2 mufflers) exhaust with snubby 4" tips that looks fucking sweet. I don't know if that would look right with stock body or not.

All I'm looking for here is names and prices. thanks

talk to stealth audio d. he can really help u out.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

The muffler I'm running now is one of the wall at meineke. It's got a 4" tip. I don't know anything about silencers. My father suggested that I slap on a glass pack. Just because one is only like $20 max, I'm gonna try it out. I have no idea how I'm gonna feel about it once it's on.

did you want just a replacement muffler or a quality exhaust?

i saw you mentioned the n1. ive never heard, but supposedly very loud. ive been told its louder than the greddy evo, and a friend has that very annoying one.

ive got the apex ws, and so do a few other people on the forum. personally i think its great. very stealthy, soundwise. the only time you hear much is at wot. when cruisin its very tame. and it doesnt stick out much at all.

jic, heres a couple pics to help with your decision.

How much does it scrape, I live out in the country and the roads are FAR from perfectly level in a lot of places and like I said, the one I have is pretty dented. Also, can you give me an idea on price?

I Think you should put a burnplate there so that it doesnt melt the bumper hell I set off car alarms with mine now I think some of the neighbors hate me for that.

i rarely scrape at all. only if im leaving my friends house cause the driveway is on a 45 degreee slant. but even then, if i go off a little sideways, i dont scrape then either. do you hit your exhaust on the muffler tip? is it hitting anywhere else?

and i got my exhaust off ebay, new, for $350.

The only thing that scrapes is the tip. If I were protect the bumber with a burn plate or something and raise the position the muffler's mounted in it probably wouldn't scrape but I just don't feel it's worth that much trouble.

You said you paid $350, I'm assuming that's a mandral bent cat-back exhaust kit. The only thing I'm looking for is the muffler itself.
