Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    evo-8 exhaust??

ok well i was at this shop on base in san antonio and i was lookin around and i saw an exhaust. the exhaust was in the junk pile but it wasn't junk, so i picked it up and took it. it had a mitsubishi emblem on the bottom and by lookin at the size and doin some research i found out it was a evo8 exhaust. i believe the piping size is 2.50. its in very good shape and i was thinkin about using the pipe. i wanted to take it to a local muffler shop and see if they could like customize it to fit my cb7. i was gonna use an after-market muffler though like a skunk2 or tanabe. i just wanted to know if this was a good idea before i do it.

using the pipe defeats the purpose of using another cars exhuast. if u were to use the canister, and have custom piping made, that would be the best idea. otherwise ur defeating the purpose cause u have to buy a full catback to get a good canister anyhow. unless u go with another oem one.

Yeah man, when you try to use another cars exhaust, you usually try to use their canister, not the piping. The pipings shape most likely wont fit under the Accord because the bends werent designed for the Accords under carriage. If youre going to try and have an exhaust fabricated from the Evo exhaust, use the canister. Altogether though, I think its a waste of money to use another cars stock exhaust, no matter how great that car is in stock form. Plus, if youre going to spend the money, either get something designed for your car, or have a shop put together some piping with a canister you like, like the Skunk2 or Tanabe you mentioned.
