From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    Small cooling problem!

I bought a 170% thermostate not to long ago and did everything right by the book to replace it.
So any way now when I stop it take the fan a minute to kick on.
By the time it start to kick the temp is pointing above the 4th gear and under the N. It goes back down when I start moving again but not all the way back to normal. sometimes it point at the N but i have to be running it hard.
My question is could the lower temp thermostate be causing this? If so can I buy a lower temp radiator fan switch and fix it? I havent been able to find one that kicks on lower than OEM.
Would I be better off just to go back to the OEM thermostate?
I wont to keep the engine cooler but all I have done so far is kept it hotter.

sounds like you need to burp the system. You probably have an air pocket causing this. Also check and make sure that the t-stat gasket is in right.
A helms manual explans the burping process.

I burped it once before. I will do it again though to make sure. my heater fan is out right now will that cause it not to burp right?

no that shouldn't but the heat does need to be on. Sometimes it can take forever for that last bit of air to come out. You checked for any leaks?

I cant even picture a automatic guage cluster so I cant help you out...

You can get a lower temp switch from a prelude. Nothing is listed for a accord since it's a family car.

Lol have I checked for leaks!!!
I have no leaks at all I park on pavement and there isnt even a little drop of any type of fluid.
and the auto cluster was just brought up to tell you where the temp goes to.
            starting from the bottom up it goes 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, N, R, P.
The temp normally stays between 3rd and 4th but is raising to N at the highest.
Srry for being such a smart ass if It seems that way to anyone but the Leak was kind of funny to me cause I check that everyday.

just because you don't see any does not mean that there aren't any. Is the fluid level always full?

a cooler motor just means a richer mixture. id leave the reg. thermostat and alter the temp switch for the fan. mines a buddy club, and i have it so it kicks on when i turn the engine off and it runs the fan which i like because it keeps air circulation under the hood. could care less about the coolant temperature.

it is installed on the coolant neck closest to the front of the motor.

How did you do that...? If you just straight jump the fan switch it only stays on with the ignition.

why not make your own, or run it manually. Just hook it up to a switch to over ride the fan control. A friend of mind does that on his camaro. Flips the switch if he's street driving, and turns it off if he's highway driving.

no i just changed the temp switch on the water neck on the front of the cylinder head. It is designed so that it will bring coolant temperature down after shut off so it doesnt bake everything under the hood. it's all computer controlled. If you want the fan to run while driving the car, replace the one near the thermostat housing.
