Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Master Cylinder question for disc swap.

Not quite sure if this belongs in this section but, any who...

I've picked up the parts to do a rear disc conversion. It was a 92/93 EX with ABS and i grabbed the master cylinder (Nissan) and a prop valve off of a 93 Integra non ABS.

Took the master cylinder home and find out that one of the ports for the brake lines is larger on the master cylinder. Are there different types of master cylinders out there on the cars with rear discs?

It doesn't look larger (diameter) but it's definately longer.

Yea the brake master you got had abs which is why there is a larger fitting hole. You need to have an line custom made 12n fitting. Talk to granitecb7 he made one for me or you can make one yourself.

Ok, Thanks! I was looking into everything and was just kinda stumped. I'm curious if the master cylinder is in fact a larger bore than one from a car without rear discs.

I'm curious if anyone has mentioned this tid bit of info in any write ups. Oh well. I'll shoot him a pm.

It has, been I made a post asking on both a brake booster and MC from a 92prelude si (vtec). Turns out that the one line needs to be made, as far as I know I never seen it mentioned in other sihes or posts on here

It turns out that the line for the master cylinder from a 4 wheel disc car with ABS is the same diameter and thread pitch as the clutch cylinder. I just want to be like "OK Honda, Who thought this was a good idea?"

Couldn't you just buy the line from the dealer? it only goes from the MC to the prop valve right?

No, I can't. The master cylinder that I'd like to use came off of a car with ABS. That line didn't go straight down to the prop valve, like in most CB7s. Instead it ran all the way over to the ABS controller, and on top of that (I believe) the other end of that line is the wrong size for the stock prop valve and even the 40/40 prop valves. It has to be custom made.
