Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Intake Manifold Port Questions

I'm porting an H manifold. Couple of q's. suggestions would be helpful if you have more info on porting intake manifolds. This is going to be an N/A build... mid 11 compression, bisi headers, head already ported and upgraded with supertech valvetrain, 70mm TB.

Just behind the injector hole, it curves down slightly. Should I port it enough to straighten out the curve a little? Circled in red. Of course, I wouldn't port enough to touch the hole, just close.

How about the plenum... Cutting out the middle port section and have it completely open.

Runner entry. Circled in Red. What you think about sharpening the bridges? ((If I cut the bridges from the plenum out)) Instead of the incoming air hitting the flat surface, it would be cut by the sharpened edges. What you think?

Butterfly plate. I would like to keep it in there. How about sharpening the bridges of that instead of the bridges of the runners?

I have the blacktrax thermo spacer as well, so I guess I have something else to play with.

you're completely taking a shot in the dark with shit like this without tests that arent' worth doing unless you're seriously into racing.

i'd either "clean it up", match it to the gasket or less or i'd leave it alone.

i remember doing this once and ONLY this on an f22 and losing 2hp over the course of 3 runs in identical conditions.
....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.

Read the bottom of page 12 and through page 13. Especially pay attention to the first post on page 13.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. The pictures and threads were a good read. Right now I'm just cleaning it up. I want to keep the iab in place.

I'm thinking of opening up the plenum like this.

                Cutting the runner like this.

On the iab plate, I would like to blend the bridges round. So the air has an easier transition into the runners. Not hitting the flat spots on the bridges.

Or just cleaning up the casting marks and leaving it alone lol

                Thanks again for your input.
