Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    K23 pistons in Zealwerks Calc

I've been pushing the idea around in my head of k23 pistons. Since no one makes rods for the F22 and F23 (ok some one does and they cost more than childbirth) I punched a few numbers in to zeal works using two combos.

The first one is the F22 with eagle h22 rods and k23 pistons not sure exactly how that will do.

And the second one is an F23 with K20 eagle rods and k23 pistons.

You guys think this will even work?

There are more rod manufacturers than just Bisimoto. Have you checked out eBay? They have some posted now.

What are the specs of the K23 piston? If you've punched the numbers in, how are you not sure if they will work?

EDIT* I just looked up the specs for a K24 piston and these look to be an 86mm version of the K24 piston. That means it's just a K20 piston in terms of compression height and bore. In that case, using the rods from the H22 will put you 1mm out of the hole. The head gasket only buys you an extra .66mm and that's not room you want to take up if you don't have to.

If you use the second combination you'll be 2mm IN the hole. You can come up with high compression figures with that setup all day long by using theoretical piston volumes. The fact is there quench effect will be useless.

Verdict: neither of these combos will work.

Why not an F23A bottom end using the F23A rods (141mm instead of 139mm which buys you that 2mm you unecessarily lost) with K20/K23 pistons?

My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

How is $339 super expensive? It sounds like you're just being cheap. Those rods will support as much power as you will probably attempt to make. Next to eBay rods that are about $240, Bisi's rods are the cheapest of them all. Crower, Maxi-Lite, and Carillo all make F22A rods that can handle over 1200whp, for twice and three times that much.

      Go Big or Go Home

P.S. - Childbirth can cost from $200 up to $200,000 with or without Health Insurance, depending on where you live, and whether there are complications with the birth.
