Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Hay check out this Turbo setup you think this will work???

First of all this is not my set up.OK I was doing on going reading on Turbos and I came across this site with this Turbo set up. Now is this possible would the Turbo even spool?

    Thought it was interesting

yeah it actually would....there is a company that makes these kits for some cars...this wouldnt be the best way to go at all, because the charge pipes run right next to the exhaust pipes making them very hot...this would probably work for low psi...
thats all i know about it, maybe some others know more about it,

for some reason it seems like it would be an easy way for someone on a budget to go turbo

think of all the crap that would go into the filter tho

You couldn't get that in a lowered car. Water...

It needs some kind of element shield...other than that and the huge pressue drop across the charge pipe I GUESS it could work. I'd get that to supplement another turbo...

not much more than anyone with a cai has... and the advantage to that turbo set up is that the heat stays away from the engine. imagine the turbo lag though....

actually i read an articale on a remote turbo integra and had very little lag with a good amount of power...i'd imagine that the lag is hardly noticable, if its a small turbo that is...

Well for one I imagine that Integra has the stock 9.5-10.4 compression, which would kill some lag, and yea it's prob. a really small turbo as well...I'd rather just go DSM+custom front mount.

I like it, never thought of that. Just seems like a pain in the ass though to run so much piping and hoses.

hey guys this actually works but its only capable of a bout 7-8 lbs of boost max they do these on trucks mostly here is the web address of the company that does them www.ststurbo.com if you were interested in reading up on it cool idea though although it won't provide the kinda power turbo's are known for

Its the oil feed/return system that i have a problem with. Seems like added stress to the oil pump although an inline pump for the return system would be a perfect reason to do a dry sump.

here at kkg we are about to do that to customers car ill post up some pics in the future when its done i plan to do that to my car ill keep yall updated

                            Quoted from STS
Our research and development manager, Joe Sim, has been busy working on a remote mounted turbo system for the Acura Integra / Honda Civic. At 4300 ft. this car ran the 1/8th mile at 94 mph, at which point the driver backed out and still finished the 1/4 mile in 13.1 seconds at 95 mph.

At this time, we don't have an exact date when this system will be available, but it shouldn't be too much longer!

Here are a few sneak peaks of the prototype system:
