Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

if you havent bought one yet, i can sell you mine for cheap. im getting another obx muffler so i wont be needing my evo style one.

and to keep on topic, ive heard good things about their lsd's also... not too sure about the cams though. its kinda hard to say their stuff is good when we've all been brought up with the "get what you pay for" mentality.

depends on what youre looking for. honestly i wouldnt trust their cams yet. the lsd's, like i said, ive heard good things... and nothing bad yet. and exhausts are all the same. if you wanna spend $400+ on a system, instead of spending less that 1/2 of that making a better one, go ahead. personally i dont care about having the namebrand. i run obx and i could care less.

With some things yes, like a muffler I dont usually see the difference in the money gets you, but call me a name brand slut, but I would rather have a stock car with a set of nice wheels(volk, work, advan, enkei, bbs ect) on my car than a car with adr wheels, a full obx exhaust, autometer gauges and obx springs. Same goes with me rather having stock wheels with nice tires compared to shitty 17s with shitty kuhmo 711's or some other awful tire.

Quality over quantity anyday for me

oh well, i guess someone's gotta be the namebrand whore... thats what makes these companies survive.

                  whatever floats your boat.

i honestly dont care for name brand.... i mean i do in a way... If i know there is a diff betweetn a 400-500 doller full catback thats name brand.. and a 200 doller catback of the same thing but off brand... now if i know.. dyno proven that the name brand has better hp gains.. and is better quality.. then ill go with that.. but if i know the cheaper does the exact same thing with the same quality.. ill deff go with the cheaper brand

Honestly I agree that most the parts make no difference, like wheels, exhausts ect...and if the difference is anything its very small, but I suppose id rather be the guy with a clean car with nice forged wheels and a smaller mod list than the guy with a faster car that has a bunch of obx parts on it. I dont think the same goes for engine parts or suspension at all, and if people buy shitty parts they get what they pay for.

Now if I were road racing the car things like wheels wouldnt matter to a point. I could run a set of decent cast wheels that weigh the same and be just as fast as the next guy for cheaper.

BUT, used parts rule the world for suspension, exhaust and wheels and I have always done this and paid the same or a little more than the other guy that has brand new springs/shocks while I have coilovers. I got my advans for my mr2 used and the tein ha coilovers for it used to, so i spent maybe a couple hundred more total than the guy that has shitty adr wheels with kuhmos and the kyb springs/shocks. Just make sure you buy from a reputable person that you know you can trust, which the mr2 board has an awesome community, and havent been screwed yet, but with hondas being so much more popular, it leaves more scams to be run.

they sound great. exactly like the systems they copy. like the greddy evo exaust, the only reason mine is so raspy is cause i dont have a cat. and im getting a new muffler today, ill get a clip later

OBX is quickly becoming the Rota of performance parts... Aftermarket clones that are damn near the real thing. If you pay $300 for a DC header, or $100 for an OBX header, and have maybe a 1hp difference between the two, you're getting more performance per dollar from the OBX.

I've been in contact with the company about the LSD (I was going to be one of the first to get the H22 LSD, but I had nobody to install it!) They seem very professional.

Remember, not every company started as high-quality! Anyone remember Skunkworks? They were ebay crap at one point too...

i got obx header and its nice, obx doesn't really make crappy parts juust cause the cheap. u have to actually try it out before u say something, cause the phrase u get what u pay for, does't always apply to everything.
